Explaining cancer, its treatment and effects to a child can be as difficult as understanding it yourself! If you're a mom of young children who is also a cancer patient, the Kimmie Cares doll and book are powerful tools that can help you explain to your child what is happening to you in a positive, uplifting way. Created by a cancer patient, these educational dolls have convertible hairpieces that allow you to let your child see what your hair will look like at each phase of your cancer journey. Each doll arrives wearing a "full" wig, illustrating your look "before" you were sick. The wig is attached with velcro and can easily be removed for the next phase, a hairless appearance. She even has a pretty pink polka-dotted scarf to cover her head, like you may choose to wear. Another wig with very short hair is included to help teach your child that your hair will slowly grow back.

 

In addition, each Kimmie Cares doll comes with a colorfully-illustrated book called Mommy and Me ... Taking Care of Each Other. This wonderful book helps your child understand, in a simple and loving way, that you're sick and how your appearance may change. It's the perfect complement to the Kimmie Cares doll.

Each doll wears white satin pants and a cute pink jacket. The jacket has an embroidered pink heart and breast cancer pink ribbon on it. Dolls are machine washable but should not be machine dried.
